Haptics research is an exciting new field that explores our sense of touch and perception of surfaces.
Haptec researches how the sense of touch can be used as a target-oriented source of perception, and tests how people process tactile information and evaluate structures. The results of Haptec’s research sets the standard for the perfect design of surfaces.
We get important information through tactile impulses:
- A product will feel pleasing or awkward when we touch it, a bank note feels real or fake. The item’s design and surface will entice us to hold it or be repelled away from it.
- The specific surface of an object becomes the differentiating factor. By feeling the character through our sense of touch we also recognize the value.
